What:                         The Renew Our Rivers Smith Lake cleanup is scheduled
                                   for Friday, May 24.Volunteers should report at 8 a.m. to
                                   Smith Lake Park. Lunch will be provided.

Overview:                  Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s
                                   largest river cleanups, have collected more than
                                   10 million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s
                                   inception in 2000. This year, 30 cleanups are planned
                                   through November on the Alabama, Black Warrior,
                                   Cahaba, Chattahoochee, Coosa, Mobile and Tallapoosa
                                   rivers and various lakes throughout the state.

Directions:                From Birmingham, take I-65 North to Exit 304. Go to the
                                   top of the ramp and turn left. Travel 5 miles to the Smith
                                   Lake Park sign and turn right. Travel 2 miles and turn left at
                                   the next Smith Lake Park sign.
