Each summer, the company welcomes thousands of visitors to more than 45 public access sites on 11 reservoirs on the Coosa, Tallapoosa and Warrior rivers. These lakes – built to provide clean, renewable hydropower for customers – also provide access to the beauty and recreation of the state’s abundant natural resources.

In addition to numerous access sites, Alabama Power operates and maintains five day-use facilities:

• D.A.R.E. Power Park off Young’s Ferry Road on northeast Lake Martin features a beach, amphitheater, pavilions, picnic tables, grills, public restrooms, fishing areas, boat docks and a nearby boat launch.
• Ten Island Historic Park on the west side of Neely Henry dam features a beach, an observation deck, pavilions, picnic tables, grills, public restrooms, fishing areas, boat docks and a boat ramp.
• Flat Rock Park on the western bank of Lake Harris features pavilions, picnic tables, grills, concessions, public restrooms, a nature trail and fishing and swimming areas.
• Barrett’s Park in the Hatchet Creek area of Lake Mitchell features picnic tables, grills, public restrooms, a boardwalk and a boat ramp.
• Logan Martin Picnic Area on the east side of Logan Martin dam features a pavilion, picnic tables, grills and a fishing pier.

In addition, dozens of boat ramps and bank fishing access sites are operated and maintained along the shoreline by Alabama Power and its state and local partners. The company maintains thousands of acres of natural and undeveloped land along the lakes for use by hikers, bird watchers and primitive use campers.
