April 2, 2008 What: The 7th annual Logan Martin cleanup will be this Saturday, April 5. Volunteers will meet at the Lakeside Landing off of Highway 231 South in Pell City at 8 a.m. to remove trash, tires and discarded items from the lake. The cleanup will end at noon, followed by a picnic lunch and bluegrass music. Renew Our Rivers is being coordinated by the Logan Martin Lake Protection Association. In 2007, more than 13 tons of trash and debris was removed from Logan Martin Lake. Overview: Renew Our Rivers, the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaign, Cleanups are held on the Cahaba, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Black Warrior and Mobile rivers in Alabama.
