The Alabama Power Service Organization Hosts Luncheon

What: The Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) will host a luncheon to award grants to 16, first-year teachers who have graduated from Alabama public colleges and universities. When: Saturday, December 7, 2002. The luncheon begins at noon. The awards ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. Where: Alabama Power Company corporate headquarters, 600 North 18th Street, downtown Birmingham. Background: Each teacher will receive a $1,000 grant from APSO. The teachers, from across the state, can use the grants to purchase materials and supplies for their classrooms. The teachers are all employed at public schools. A list of this year's winners is attached.
