April 9, 2008 What: The 18th annual Lake Jordan cleanup will be this Saturday, April 12. Volunteers will meet at Bonner’s Point Landing 8 a.m. to remove trash, tires and discarded items from the lake. The cleanup will end at noon, followed by a picnic lunch. The Lake Jordan cleanup is the oldest cleanup in the Renew Our Rivers program and is being coordinated by the Lake Jordan Home Owners and Boat Owners Association. Since 2001, more than 30 tons of trash and debris was removed from the lake. Overview: Renew Our Rivers, the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaign, Cleanups are held on the Cahaba, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Black Warrior and Mobile rivers in Alabama.
