Heavy Rains Lead to Higher Lake Levels, Reports Alabama Power

Recent heavy rains have resulted in higher-than-normal levels on Logan Martin and Weiss Lakes on the Coosa River and Smith Lake on the Warrior River. Weiss Lake was expected to crest today at about 564 feet, which is full summer pool. Logan Martin Lake is expected to crest tomorrow, March 8, at 467 feet, which is two feet above summer pool. Smith Lake is expected to crest today at nearly 514 feet, which is nearly four feet above summer pool. Individuals with boats, boathouses or other property along these reservoirs should be alert to these unusually high elevations and take appropriate measures.
