BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - April 25, 2008 - The Alabama Power Company Board of Directors has elected three new officers and the management of the external affairs area of the company has been reorganized.

The new officers are Kenneth E. Coleman, who will serve as vice president of the company’s Southern Division headquartered in Montgomery; Moses H. Feagin, who will serve as vice president and comptroller; and Nick C. Sellers, who will serve as vice president of corporate relations.  Coleman and Sellers assume their new responsibilities immediately.  Feagin will assume his new position May 19.

“Each of these individuals has broad experience, sound judgment and demonstrated leadership skills that will ensure that we continue to provide low-cost, reliable energy and excellent customer service,” said Alabama Power President and CEO Charles McCrary. “I am proud to have them on our leadership team.” 

Coleman is currently director of retail marketing and sales for Mississippi Power Company in Gulfport, Mississippi.  Mississippi Power and Alabama Power are subsidiaries of Atlanta-based Southern Company. Prior to his current position, Coleman held management positions with Alabama Power and Southern Generation and was director of business development for Birmingham’s Metropolitan Development Board.  He played professional baseball in both the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs organizations, reaching “AAA” level.  Those years included two seasons with the Birmingham Barons.

He is a native of Jersey City, N.J., and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn., and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama.  He is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Birmingham, served on the President’s Advisory Council at Birmingham-Southern College and was in 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile Inc. 

Coleman is married to the former Prentiss Glover and they have two children.

Feagin is currently comptroller for Mississippi Power Company.  He has had increasing levels of responsibility within Southern Company since he was hired in 1987 as a junior accountant at Alabama Power.   More recently, Feagin has worked as general accounting manager for Southern Company Services and corporate planning analyst for Alabama Power.  He has been at Mississippi Power since 2005.

He is a native of Montgomery and holds a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Accounting from the University of Alabama. Feagin received his Certificate of Management Accounting in 1993 and completed the Executive Finance and Accounting Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.  He is a member of the Institute of Management of Accountants and 100 Black Men of America. 

He and his wife, Glenda, have three children.

Sellers currently serves as assistant to the president at Alabama Power Company.  He joined Alabama Power in 2003 as federal legislative affairs director.  Prior to joining the company, Sellers worked in state government and as a consultant.  He also served as manager of external affairs for the Business Council of Alabama and as director of operations for the Alabama Sports Foundation.

He serves on the board of directors of Magic Moments, Birmingham Cultural and Heritage Foundation, Coosa-Alabama Rivers Improvement Association and the Bryant-Jordan Scholarship Foundation. He is a graduate of the University of the Pacific and is currently a student at Birmingham School of Law.

Sellers and his wife, Julie, are the parents of three children.

Sellers replaces Julian Smith, who is retiring in June.  Smith currently has oversight of  community relations and governmental relations. The two departments will be independent of the other, with Sellers overseeing community relations, and Leslie Sanders continuing as vice president of governmental relations, where she oversees all aspects of governmental affairs for the company at the state level. Both Sanders and Sellers will report to the executive vice president of external affairs.
