GULFPORT, MS - June 2, 2008 - President and CEO Anthony Topazi announces Cindy Shaw as Mississippi Power’s new comptroller. The recent announcement was made by Topazi and the company’s board of directors. Shaw, an employee of Mississippi Power for 23 years, will serve as an officer of the company in her new role.

Most recently Shaw served as the manager of financial planning, she has held numerous leadership positions in the area of accounting and finance for the company including supervisor of budget and distribution services and manager of regulatory accounting and research.

“Cindy brings a tremendous amount of experience to the position of comptroller,” said Frances Turnage, vice president of finance and chief financial officer. “She has demonstrated superior performance throughout her career.”

Shaw earned her Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a licensed CPA in the state of Mississippi.
