Volunteers clean Holt Lake on Aug. 12-16 as part of Renew Our Rivers campaign

Aug. 4, 2008 What: The fourth annual Holt Lake cleanup on the Black Warrior River will be held Tuesday, Aug. 12 through Saturday, Aug. 16 in Tuscaloosa County. Volunteers with or without boats can meet at 8 a.m. each day at Rocky Branch Park in Peterson to remove trash from the lake. The cleanup will end Saturday at noon with a picnic lunch. Directions: From Birmingham, travel west on Interstate 59/20 toward Tuscaloosa. Take exit 100 (Abernant/Bucksville exit) and turn right onto Highway 216. Travel approximately 18.5 miles. Turn right onto County Road 109 (Rocky Branch Road) and travel 3.2 miles.
