NORTHPORT, Ala. - Nov. 26, 2008 - Bankhead Hydro Plant, located in Northport on the Warrior River at Lock 17, plans to close the plant entrance road due to security and safety concerns. The road is scheduled to close on Monday, Dec. 8.

This road has been used by some people to get to the Warrior River near the plant. Other sites, such as Blue Creek, an authorized campsite and boat launch, remain open.
