Unconfirmed reports indicate that two Savannah Electric employees were among those lost in a private plane crash near Atlanta on Wednesday.
Mark W. Neville, 43, a residential marketing representative and Rodney J. Hall, 40, also a residential marketing representative, had been attending a Homebuilders meeting in Atlanta. Neville joined Savannah Electric in 1977 and Hall has been employed since 1986.
Both were scheduled to fly back from Atlanta Wednesday with local construction firm, C. A. Griffin, Inc. Reports from Atlanta indicate that a plane owned by that company has crashed near the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.
The Savannah Electric family mourns the tragic loss of life in this accident. Our hearts are heavy as we offer our prayers and support to all the families involved. Both men were model employees, with deep ties to their families and the community, said Savannah Electric president and CEO, Anthony James.
Halls wife is also a Savannah Electric employee.
The company continues to monitor reports from Atlanta and will issue additional statements as available.
