Kimberly D. Flowers has been named as Mississippi Powers new vice president and senior production officer of power generation and Moses Feagin as comptroller. The announcements were made by President and CEO Anthony Topazi and the companys board of directors.
Flowers was also named senior production officer at Southern Company Generation by Southern Company Services board of directors. She will replace Gene Ussery, who is moving to Georgia Power as vice president of distribution. Feagin replaces Frances Turnage, who was recently named Mississippi Powers vice president of Finance, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer.
Flowers currently serves as manager of Georgia Powers Plant Bowen, one of the largest power plants in Southern Companys generating system. Since beginning her career twenty years ago as a co-op student, she has worked in numerous positions, including maintenance group leader, plant engineer, and productivity and quality engineer. A native of Columbus, Georgia, she earned a master of business administration degree from the University of West Georgia and a bachelors degree in industrial engineering at Georgia Tech.
Feagin is currently the generation accounting services manager for Southern Company Generation and Southern Power Company. A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Feagin earned a degree in accounting from the University of Alabama. He began working with Alabama Power in 1987 as a junior accountant and has held numerous leadership positions in systems analysis, corporate planning and accounting operations.
Mississippi Power, a Southern Company subsidiary, serves more than 193,000 customers in 23 southeast Mississippi counties.
