What: Residents and volunteers will roll up their sleeves to cleanup Lake Martin this Saturday, at DARE Power Park in Dadeville. The event is being organized by the Middle Tallapoosa Clean Water Partnership and is from 8 a.m. to noon with support from sponsors and Alabama Power. Volunteers will target the upper end of Lake Martin on Woods’ and Young’s Island, launching boats from DARE Park. Last year, 400 volunteers assisted in the cleanup.
Overview: Renew Our Rivers, the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaign, is in its seventh year with spring cleanups through June 17.
