Hundreds of children will join professional golfers Brittany Lincicome and Dewald Gouws on Tuesday, Aug. 25 for a Junior Clinic at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill in Prattville. The clinic is sponsored by Alabama Power.

During the interactive clinic, children in third- through fifth grade will learn about the game of golf and how it promotes core values, including honesty, integrity, responsibility, courtesy, sportsmanship and respect.

“Alabama Power is excited to be sponsoring the Junior Clinic again this year and to have Brittany and Dewald with us,” said Leslie Sanders, vice president of Alabama Power’s Southern Division. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to teach children about golf and the great life lessons it can provide.”

Lincicome is a Florida native who won her first amateur tournament at age nine. Named the St. Petersburg Times’ "Pinellas County Golfer of the Year" three years straight, she participated in more than 100 amateur tournaments, with a winning percentage of over 60 percent. She has five LPGA Tour victories, including the 2015 ANA Inspiration and the 2011 ShopRite LPGA Classic and CN Canadian Women’s Open.

Gouws is a native of Pretoria, South Africa, and was the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship runner-up. He is a four-time World Long Drive finalist and a trick shot expert, with nine tournament wins in South Africa and the United States. He and Lincicome are engaged to be married.

The clinic will begin at 10 a.m. on the driving range at Capitol Hill. In case of inclement weather, the clinic will move to the skyboxes located on the 18th green. Parking is available at the Clubhouse parking lot. For details, please contact Mike Jordan at 334-832-3309.
