Georgia Power recognizes Dawson County School System for commitment to energy efficiency
Company presents school system with $32,000+ in rebates for facility upgrades

ATLANTA – Sept. 28, 2016 – Georgia Power recently recognized the Dawson County School System for its commitment to energy efficiency by presenting the school system with a rebate check for more than $32,000 for energy efficiency improvements. The school system made a variety of upgrades including installation of energy management systems and occupancy sensors, which could save more than 441,000 kilowatt hours of energy.

“Our Commercial Energy Efficiency program is customized providing a variety of ways for customers of all sizes to save money and energy,” said Jeff Smith, manager of energy efficiency strategy and implementation for Georgia Power. “We applaud the Dawson County School System for recognizing the benefits of energy efficient improvements throughout their system which will reduce their overall energy use.”

“Running environmentally conscious facilities is important for us,” said Scott Morgan, director of maintenance and facilities for Dawson County School System. “We’re always looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact and we were able to accomplish that with Georgia Power’s assistance.”

Georgia Power has awarded nearly $9,000,000 in rebates through the Commercial Energy Efficiency program to-date. The program includes educational resources, rebates and incentives which are available to all commercial customers such as school systems, universities, hospitals, museums and many more.
