Davis elected vice president, Weaver named to new executive role at Alabama Power

The Alabama Power board of directors has elected Leigh Davis as vice president with responsibility for Customer Services. Bob Weaver, who served as vice president for Customer Services, has been named vice president of special projects in the Marketing and Business Development organization.

"Her depth of experience and knowledge of our business, gained from serving in multiple business units at Alabama Power and Southern Company, make her particularly valuable to our organization."

"Bob brings tenured skills and insights, which will be tremendous assets as we expand our products and services to meet the evolving needs of our customers."

Weaver’s and Davis’ new roles are effective Jan. 1, 2017.

Davis most recently served as senior vice president and general counsel of Southern Company Operations and general counsel of Southern Nuclear. She previously served as vice president of Charitable Giving for Alabama Power, president of the Alabama Power Foundation and executive director of the Alabama Business Charitable Trust. Her external affairs experience at Alabama Power and Southern Company has included leadership roles in Governmental Relations, Environmental Affairs, and Economic and Community Development.

Early in her career, Davis served as an attorney in Southern Company’s Washington, D.C., office, focusing primarily on environmental litigation and energy policy. More recently, Davis held executive positions in Information Technology and Corporate Real Estate.

Davis has a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration from the University of Alabama and a juris doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. She is a graduate of Samford University’s MBA program.

Before serving as vice president of Customer Services, Weaver was Alabama Power’s vice president of Corporate Services. In that role he provided executive leadership over corporate facilities and operations, critical infrastructure and fleet operations, among other responsibilities.

Weaver joined Alabama Power after graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management. He has served in roles of increasing responsibility at Alabama Power in numerous organizations, including Human Resources, Power Delivery, Engineering and Operations, Commercial and Residential Marketing, Supply Chain Management, and Sales and Service. Weaver also served as the company’s statewide manager of Residential Sales and as assistant to the executive vice president of Alabama Power.
