Volunteers set to clean Logan Martin Lake March 25 through April 1

What:  The annual Renew Our Rivers Logan Martin cleanup is Saturday, March 25 through Saturday, April 1. Volunteers should report at 8 a.m. to one of the following collection sites: Caribe Club Marina, Lakeside Landing, Riverside Marina, Poor House Branch Marina, Woods Surfside Marina or Clear Creek Marina. Volunteers should wear long pants and boots. Minors must have a chaperone to participate. The cleanup will finish at noon on April 1, followed by a picnic at Pell City Lakeside Park.

This Renew Our Rivers cleanup is coordinated by Logan Martin Lake Protection Association and Alabama Power.

Overview:  Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaigns, have collected nearly 14 million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s inception in 2000. This year, 31 cleanups are planned through November on the Alabama, Black Warrior, Cahaba, Chattahoochee, Coosa, Mobile and Tallapoosa rivers.
