Volunteers set to clean Logan Martin Lake March 17 – 24

What:  The annual Renew Our Rivers Logan Martin cleanup is Saturday, March 17 through Saturday, March 24. Volunteers should report at 8 a.m. to one of the following collection sites: Caribe Club Marina, Clear Creek Marina, Lakeside Landing, Poor House Branch Marina, Woods Surfside Marina or Pell City Civic Center. Volunteers should wear long pants and boots. Minors must have a chaperone to participate. The cleanup will end at noon on March 24 followed by a picnic at Pell City Lakeside Park.

This Renew Our Rivers cleanup is coordinated by Logan Martin Lake Protection Association and Alabama Power.

Overview:  Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s largest river cleanup campaigns, have collected nearly 15 million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s inception in 2000. This year, 30 cleanups are planned through November on the Alabama, Black Warrior, Cahaba, Chattahoochee, Coosa, Mobile and Tallapoosa rivers.
