MEDIA ADVISORY Alabama Power partners with Zoom Motorsports for annual Electrathon Alabama


What: The annual Electrathon Alabama competition will be held at Barber Motorsports Park on Monday, April 30. High school and college students will drive electric-powered vehicles they designed for one hour in competition on a closed-loop course. In all, 36 cars from 20 high schools and three colleges from Alabama and Georgia will be represented. Students will enjoy a plug-in electric car show featuring vehicles from BMW, Chevrolet and Ford. Event sponsors include Alabama Power, SKY (Skilled Knowledgeable Youth), Zoom Motorsports and Barber Motorsports Park.

When: Monday, April 30. Vehicle inspections begin at 8 a.m. First race starts at 10 a.m., second race at 1:30 p.m. Awards are scheduled to be presented at 3:30 p.m.
