Alabama Power Foundation awards Elevate grants

Four nonprofits receive resources to serve their communities

Four Alabama nonprofits have received more resources to address needs in their communities through Elevate grants. The program provides support to these organizations through funding for community projects, capacity-building workshops and networking opportunities.

The 2018-2019 recipients will each receive a $17,500 grant. In addition to these funds, support for the nonprofits will also come through workshops to help them expand their reach in their respective communities.

“Through these Elevate grants, we empower organizations to serve, and in turn, they help strengthen our communities,” said Myla Calhoun, president of the Alabama Power Foundation. “By partnering with these organizations, we’re able to address some of the community’s most pressing needs.”

The 2018-2019 Elevate grantees are:

  • One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center - Birmingham

  • Police Athletic League - Tuscaloosa

  • United Way of Southwest Alabama – Mobile

  • Storybook Farm - Opelika
