Georgia Power names local manager for Homerville/Pearson

ATLANTA – Georgia Power recently selected Brent James to serve as the company’s local manager for the Homerville/Pearson communities.  Brent will report to Lynn Lovett, Georgia Power’s Tifton area manager.

Brent joined Georgia Power in 1994 after graduating from Valdosta State University with a bachelor’s degree in Management.  He held several customer service positions before being named Customer Service Supervisor in Tifton in 2000.

In 2003, he completed a one-year job rotation where he engineered overhead and underground distribution facilities.  In 2004, he served as Local Manager for the Nashville office in addition to his customer service role.  He has worked accident-free his entire career.

Brent has served as president of the Southern Force Citizens of Georgia Power chapter in Tifton and is currently on the state board of the CGP.  Other community involvements include the Rotary Club in Nashville and the Salvation Army Advisory Board in Tifton. He is a graduate of Leadership Berrien and the Georgia Academy for Economic Development.

“Brent has a broad background in customer service and distribution,” said Lynn Lovett.  “With his proven leadership abilities, I believe that he will serve as a strong link between Georgia Power and the Homerville/Pearson communities.”

Georgia Power is the largest subsidiary of Southern Company, one of the nation’s largest generators of electricity.  The company is an investor-owned, tax-paying utility, serving customers in 57,000 of the state’s 59,000 square miles.
