Southern Company providing electricity to MEAG Power

Southern Company has been selected to provide up to 50 megawatts of summer peaking power in May and June and up to 75 megawatts July through September to MEAG Power.

Southern Company was one of two companies selected by MEAG Power, which received proposals from 11 bidders, to meet the company’s 1997 summer needs. MEAG Power is a wholesale public power supplier that serves 49 municipal utilities in Georgia and co-owns four generating facilities and Georgia’s Integrated Transmission System (ITS).
