Alabama Power board elects new officer

The Alabama Power board of directors today elected Daniel K. Glover as a vice president of Alabama Power with responsibility for Distribution. 

Glover most recently served as Power Delivery Services Manager where he oversaw capital and O & M budgets, distribution planning, distribution engineering services, metering services, contract services, crew methods and training, methods and systems and the Storm Center.

“Danny's years of experience, thorough knowledge of our distribution system and keen insight into developing technologies make him an ideal choice for this position. I am confident he will do an excellent job and continue Alabama Power's long tradition of outstanding reliability and customer service,” said Alabama Power President and CEO Charles McCrary. 

Glover is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. in civil engineering. He began his career at Alabama Power as a student engineer in 1977 and has held several engineering and supervisory positions throughout the Power Delivery organization such as operations manager, contract services manager, distribution manager and power delivery services manager, corporate headquarters.

He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Alabama and has almost 32 years experience in line construction, maintenance and operations. In 2002 he became part of Alabama Power’s Professional Mentoring Team, and in 2003, he served on the company’s Contract Negotiation Team. 
 
He has also been instrumental in Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Alabama, serving as president and board member for seven years.

Glover, a native of Akron, Alabama, and wife Belinda, have three girls – Brandi, Samantha and Beth. They are active members of Valley View Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, where they serve as teachers and lay workers.
