Alabama Power names Crews as Western Division VP

Alabama Power’s board of directors announced today the election of Mark Crews as an officer and vice president with responsibility for the Western Division based in Tuscaloosa. 

 

"Mark Crews has proven his value to Alabama Power throughout his career," said President and CEO Charles McCrary. "He has great business experience and we are fortunate to have him leading our Western Division.”

 

Crews comes to his new position from serving as director of External Affairs with Southern Company Services in Atlanta. Crews was responsible for Southern Company’s interests relative to national and state policy and managing participation in state advocacy organizations.

 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA from Georgia State University and has completed the general manager program at Harvard University.

 

Crews began his career with Southern Company in a cooperative education engineering position at Georgia Power. He spent 15 years there serving as a Sales manager and in other marketing positions, in economic development, and corporate industrial and power marketing. Crews was director of Federal Regulatory Affairs in Washington, D.C., and Telecom Regulatory manager at Southern Company in Atlanta.  

 

Crews has a son and a daughter.
