Customers can receive two free CFLs for completing on line Energy Check-Up

 

As part of ENERGY STAR’s 2010 “Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR®” campaign, Gulf Power will give customers two free compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) when they complete a free online Energy Check-Up for their home during the month of October.

 

Energy Check-Up is an EarthCents program designed to help Gulf Power’s customers find low-cost and no-cost ways to reduce energy usage through energy efficiency.

 

To participate, customers can visit www.gulfpower.com to perform the check-up. Customers will receive specific recommendations about energy efficiency, home improvements and steps to improve energy efficiency that can help them cut electricity bills by as much as 50 percent. When customers complete the online energy inspection they’ll have the opportunity to click on a link to create an account with our online provider and be mailed two free CFLs.

 

Customers without internet access may request a mail-in survey form at 850-444-6755 and will be eligible for the bulbs as well.

If every American home replaced just one light bulb with CFL bulb, it would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and last as much as 10 times longer.and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.
