Alabama Power board of directors elects Smith to head External Affairs

The Alabama Power board of directors has elected Zeke Smith as executive vice president with responsibility for External Affairs.

 

Smith will be responsible for Alabama Power’s Public Relations, Regulatory Services, Governmental Relations and Environmental Affairs departments. A
28-year veteran of Alabama Power, Smith most recently served
as vice president of Regulatory Services and Financial Planning.

 

“Zeke’s experience in Regulatory Affairs and Financial Planning has given him a keen understanding of our business and an appreciation of our customers’ needs,” said Alabama Power President and CEO Charles McCrary. “Under his leadership, I am confident we will continue to maintain strong, open and honest relationships with all of our stakeholders.”

 

Smith replaces Mark Crosswhite, who was recently named president and CEO of Gulf Power.

 

Smith is a graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Samford University. Active in his church and community, Smith currently serves on Trussville City Schools Foundation Board and the board of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Smith and his wife Darlene have three children: Drew, Heather and Lindsey.
