Overview:  Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s largest river cleanups, have collected more than 11 million pounds of trash and debris since its inception in 2000. More than 30 cleanups are held each year from February through October on the Alabama, Black Warrior, Cahaba, Coosa, Mobile, Chattahoochee and Tallapoosa rivers.

Directions: The public is instructed to collect trash anywhere along Weiss Lake's 450 miles of shoreline. The general public can get trash bags, T-shirts and gloves at the Cherokee County Chamber office.
