What:                         The Renew Our Rivers Lay Lake cleanup is
                                   Saturday, April 6 .Volunteers should report
                                   at 7 a.m. to Richey’s Resort located at E.C. Gaston
                                   Steam Plant. The cleanup will take place at various
                                   locations near the plant and will be followed by a picnic
                                   lunch.

Overview:                 Volunteers for Renew Our Rivers, one of the Southeast’s
                                   largest river cleanups, have collected more than 10
                                   million pounds of trash and debris since the program’s
                                   inception in 2000. This year, 30 cleanups are planned
                                   through November on the Alabama, Black Warrior,
                                   Cahaba, Chattahoochee, Coosa, Mobile and Tallapoosa
                                   rivers and various lakes throughout the state.

Directions:                From Birmingham, take Highway 280 east to Harpersville    
                                   and then travel on Highway 25 south to the plant near
                                   Wilsonville.
