Arbor Day Foundation honors company
This release is from the Arbor Day Foundation.

For the 13th consecutive year, Alabama Power has been designated as a Tree Line USA company by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Tree Line USA recognizes utilities for protecting and enhancing America’s urban trees. The program is a partnership between the foundation and the National Association of State Foresters, which promotes safely and reliably delivering electricity while maintaining healthy forests, said John Rosenow, founder and chief executive of the Arbor Day Foundation.

“Trees are a critical part of urban landscapes all across the United States,” said Rosenow. “Service providers like Alabama Power Co. show that taking care of urban trees is good for business, for customers and for the broader community.”

Alabama Power achieved the top designation by meeting the five Tree Line USA standards. Utilities must follow industry standards for quality tree care; provide annual training for employees in tree-care practices; sponsor tree-planting and public education; maintain tree-based energy conservation programs; and participate in an Arbor Day celebration.
