Alabama Classic Foundation Seeks More Partners to Help Students
This release is from The Alabama Classic Foundation.

Birmingham, AL. (October 23, 2013) - The 72nd annual Magic City Classic kicks off Saturday, Oct. 26 as Alabama A & M University squares off against Alabama State University at Legion Field. Thousands will participate in the gridiron matchup and surrounding festivities.

Off the field, the Alabama Classic Foundation is working to capitalize on the environment of excitement, partnership and support to help promote charitable, educational and literacy advancements throughout Alabama. The organization helps raise funds for deserving students to attend college at Alabama A & M University or Alabama State University.

There are several ways in which the Alabama Classic Foundation is making education dreams come true. The Classic Soiree is a community-centered, education-based event which will be held on Friday, Oct. 25. While corporate partners such as Alabama Power, Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Regions Bank have already signed on as sponsors, more are needed.

“We are truly grateful for the support of our corporate sponsors, and look forward to growing these relationships to benefit the cause of enhancing lives and communities,” said Alabama Classic Foundation chairman Leroy Nix. “Our goal is to help raise funds for deserving students to get an education, but we also want to create more awareness year-round about what our organization is doing to advance educational opportunities in our state.”

There’s also a site at www.crowdrise.com/alabamaclassicfoundation, which gives members of the community an opportunity to donate and join in on the friendly competition of the Magic City Classic football game.
