Alabama Power Reminder: Youth Leadership Conference Deadline Approaching

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.

An exciting lineup of community leaders are scheduled to speak to high school juniors at the annual Youth Leadership Conference, hosted by Alabama Power's Leadership Development Association.

This year's conference will take place on Friday, October 26 from 9:15 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the auditorium at Alabama Power's corporate headquarters, 600 North 18th Street in downtown Birmingham.

Among those slated to speak at the event are Fairfield Mayor Larry Langford, state Rep. Oliver Robinson, and John Croyle, founder of Big Oak Ranch, a home for troubled, abused and homeless children. Lunch and entertainment will be provided. Students also will be able to browse tables with career information.

Seating at the conference is limited. Schools in the Birmingham area that wish to participate must respond by Friday, September 14. Following the deadline, we will advise each school about the number of candidates it can bring to the event.

The Leadership Development Association is a membership organization comprised of Alabama Power and other Southern Company employees. LDA provides employees with leadership training and other opportunities for professional growth. LDA also works with area youth to promote the value of education and community involvement.
