Recycle the Spirit by Bringing Your Christmas Tree to Select Bruno's, Food World and Food Fair stores
PRNewswire

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Don't let your Christmas tree go to waste. Instead, recycle your tree by dropping it off at participating Bruno's, Food World and Food Fair Supermarkets between Dec. 25 and Jan. 11.

Since 1989, Bruno's and its "Recycle the Spirit" program sponsors have helped keep nearly 500,000 old Christmas trees from taking up valuable space at Alabama landfills. Instead, the trees are used to create fish habitat in area lakes or mulched for use in local beautification projects.

This year, you can bring your tree to more than two dozen participating stores in the Birmingham, Montgomery and Mobile areas. Please remove the decorations and the stand before leaving your tree at the collection site. There will be a waste container at each site for decorations. Trees will not be accepted after Jan. 11.

In addition to Bruno's, Food World and Food Fair, this year's sponsors include Alabama Power, BFI, B.A.S.S., Keep Birmingham Beautiful, Keep Mobile Beautiful, Keep Saraland Beautiful and the Montgomery Clean City Commission.

You'll find a list of recycling locations at your local Bruno's, Food World and Food Fair stores. Or you can call Katrice Allen at (205) 912-4664 for details.
