The campaign, which runs through July 31, features billboard, on-line, magazine and newspaper advertisements that highlight the many benefits and features of ENERGY STAR homes.

"Research shows that home buyers are now going on-line to get information about a potential home purchase," said Chris Womack, Executive Vice President of Georgia Power. "With this new advertising campaign we hope to meet home buyers where they are and give them the tools they need to make an informed decision about purchasing an ENERGY STAR home."

Among the features of the homes are effective floor, wall and attic insulation, high performance windows, tight construction and ducts that reduce drafts and improve indoor air quality, more efficient heating and cooling equipment, and testing by independently certified ENERGY STAR partners who verify the energy performance of the home.

In addition, ENERGY STAR homes use energy more efficiently and are built with materials that have less impact on the environment. They also provide better protection against cold, heat, pollution and noise, and offer the government-backed ENERGY STAR label that ensures the home meets strict energy efficiency guidelines. Consumers who purchase an ENERGY STAR home can expect to save $200-$400 on their energy bills annually.

The advertising points consumers to Georgia Power's ENERGY STAR Homes Web site where prospective home buyers can learn about the advantages of owning an energy efficient home and locate ENERGY STAR home builders in their area.

The campaign also ties into Georgia Power's commitment to help customers be more energy efficient. Besides conserving energy, ENERGY STAR homes offer built-in quality and comfort and are constructed more efficiently than homes built to standard building codes, thereby helping the homeowner save money and energy.
