Magic City APSO Chapter to dedicate 19th Habitat house May 9

BIRMINGHAM - May 2, 2008 -The Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO)-Magic City Chapter and numerous partners will join Habitat for Humanity of Greater Birmingham to build a home in the Titusville community.  It is the 19th Habitat home built by APSO volunteers in 10 years. Homeowner Sharventris Cannon will move in after a dedication ceremony next week.

When: Construction will take place May 5-9, ending with a dedication of the home. ABC 33/40’s James Spann will be among featured speakers for the dedication Friday at 11:30 a.m.

Directions from I-65 South near UAB:
Exit at Sixth Avenue South. The exit ramp merges with Sixth. At the second traffic light turn right at Sixth Street South.  Follow Sixth Street South, past Iota Avenue (Fourth Avenue South) and take a slight left onto Theta Avenue. It is the eighth house on the left - 467 Theta Ave.

Directions from I-65 North near UAB:
Exit at University Boulevard. Turn left on 11th Street South at the first traffic light. Turn left on Sixth Avenue South. At the second traffic light, turn right at Sixth Street South. Follow Sixth Street South past Iota Avenue (Fourth Avenue South) and take a slight left onto Theta Avenue. It is the eighth house on the left  - 467 Theta Ave.
