Lewis Jeffers elected vice president, power generation

At its November meeting, the Savannah Electric Board of Directors elected Lewis A. Jeffers to the position of vice president, power generation. He formerly held the position of general manager, power generation at Savannah Electric.

Jeffers has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Alabama and an extensive background in the power generation organization of Southern Company, Savannah Electric’s parent company. He previously worked 17 years for Alabama Power and three years for Gulf Power -- both subsidiaries of Southern Company -- before joining Savannah Electric in February 1999.

Jeffers and his wife Teresa have two children.
