Savannah Electric communications ranked sixth in nation

Savannah Electric received seven awards in the Utility Communicators International Better Communications Competition held June 20-24 in Washington, D.C. The seven awards earned Savannah Electric the ranking of sixth best Utility Communicator in the country.

Savannah Electric’s seven entries placed in every category submitted, receiving two gold, one silver and four bronze awards. First place entries were awarded to the company in the categories of Single Magazine Ad and Single Television Ad. Other winning categories were Billboards, Single Newspaper Ad and Sponsorships.

“Being as small a company as we are, we were thrilled to make the top ten again this year,” said Swann Seiler, manager of Savannah Electric’s Corporate Communications department. The company was also ranked in the top ten in 2004. “The work we were up against was outstanding.”

Savannah Electric is represented by The Hauser Group, the company’s advertising agency based in Savannah with an office also in Atlanta.

The Better Communications Competition is held annually to recognize the best advertising and marketing projects produced by utilities throughout the year. Ratings are based on marketing, public relations, print advertising, radio and television advertising.
