Savannah Electric welcomes new board member; re-elects officers

During its July meeting on July 20th, the Board of Directors of Savannah Electric elected Gus H. Bell, III to the Savannah Electric Board.

Bell is President and Chief Executive Officer of Hussey, Gay, Bell and DeYoung, an engineering and architectural firm based in Savannah with six other offices in Georgia and South Carolina.

He is a 1959 alumnus of The Citadel and received his graduate education from the University of Kentucky.

Bell currently serves on the Board of Directors of SunTrust Bank of Savannah, the Board of Directors of Memorial Health University Medical Center, the Savannah Economic Development Authority Advisory Board and served on the State Senate Committee for Indigent Care.

He and his wife, Mandy, have three children and five grandchildren and attend the Independent Presbyterian Church.

Bell joins other Savannah Electric Board members: G. Edison Holland, Archie H. Davis, Walter D. Gnann, Robert B. Miller, III and Arnold M. Tenenbaum who were re-elected in May.

Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the following officers were re-elected by the Board: G. Edison Holland, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer; W. Miles Greer, Vice President, Customer Operations and External Affairs; Kirby R. Willis, Vice President, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer, and Assistant Corporate Secretary; Nancy E. Frankenhauser, Corporate Secretary; Christopher C. Womack, Vice President, Leonard J. Haynes, Vice President, and C. Alan Martin, Vice President.
