Hood named to Mississippi Power Company Board of Directors

Warren A. Hood, Jr., chairman and CEO of Hood Companies, has been named to the Mississippi Power Company Board of Directors.

“We’re very pleased to have Warren join our board,” said Anthony Topazi, president and CEO of Mississippi Power. “He’s an outstanding leader and businessman who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position.”

Hood’s family owned business, established in 1978, now includes three separate corporations with sixty manufacturing and distribution sites located throughout the United States and Canada.

Hood, a Hattiesburg resident, serves as chairman of the Board for the Institute for Technology Development and is a former chairman of the Mississippi Technology Alliance and the Area Development Partnership of Hattiesburg. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for AmSouth Bank of Hattiesburg, the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, and the Boy Scouts of America and is a former Trustee of Millsaps College. He is a member of the Hattiesburg School Board and the President’s Advisory Board of Georgia Institute of Technology.

Mississippi Power, an affiliate of the Southern Company, serves more than 193,000 customers in 23 southeastern Mississippi counties.
